Ex Orient Film is a professional training programme for central and eastern European directors and producers of creative and 'auteur' documentary films. The year-long workshop offers 3 intensive 3-4 day residential modules which combine plenary sesisons, project analysis, individual and group consultancy. The participants will meet experts from the European audiovisual industry (commissioning editors, established producers, renowned directors etc) who will guide them in the development of their projects and help them to find financing.

What you will learn:

• How to write and develop o professional project for international European co-production with the assistance of experienced experts and producers
• How to contact key individuals from the documentary film industry and how to work with them.
• How to enter the International film market - documentary film financing, the European market, pre-sale, sale and co-production contracts
• How to set up and run a successful independent film production company

June in Warsaw (Poland)
October in Jihlava (Czech Republic)

PARTICIPANTS

28 Independent producers and directors from central and eastern European states.  14 documentary projects will be developed through the course of these workshops.

PARTICIPANTS FEE

€750 per project
Scholarships of €600 are available to Eastern Europeans
