UK presence at the Berlinale Co-Production Market

Four UK film projects are among the 37 films which have been selected for the 7th Berlinale Co-Production Market (14-16 February 2010), held within the framework of the European Film Market at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Napoleon & Betsy directed by Benjamin Ross (2B Pictures), Towrz directed by Faye Gilbert (The Bureau Film Company), the British/French co-production I, Anna directed by Barnaby Southcombe (Embargo Films) and the British/Swedish co-production Perish directed by Catherine Linstrum (Bright Pictures) will all be pitched and presented during the two-and-a-half-day market, which invites participants to a number of events, including: talks on film financing, marketing and international co-production; the Producer's Lounge; the ever-popular Speed Matching and individually scheduled meetings with some 500 potential co-production and financial partners.
The success of the Berlinale Co-Production Market is evident through the diverse range of selected projects which, in the six years since the beginning of the event, has seen over 90 films completed. In 2010, from the 354 projects submitted, 23 feature projects with budgets from €1-7 million have made it to the official selection, to be presented by producers with international experience.
