MEDIA's Promotion Outside Europe funding scheme has been published to support projects and activities that promote European audiovisual works in the rest of the world.  The scheme is aimed at activities taking place from 1 January 2010 to 30 September 2010, and this year has a budget of €400,000.  Through this scheme MEDIA already supports the following initiatives that work to boost the profile of European works throughout other continents: European Film Promotion's Film Sales Support initiative, the Europa Cinemas Network and the European Producers Club.

Through the above organisations European filmmakers can benefit from a range of opportunities to promote their work outside Europe.  For instance, through EFP's Film Sales Support scheme, filmmakers can request financial assistance if they are taking a film to any these international festivals:

• Toronto IFF, September, Canada
• Rio de Janeiro IFF, September, Brazil
• Pusan IFF, October, South Korea 
• AFM, November, USA
