Cannes: Meet MEDIA-funded training courses
During the Cannes International Film Festival MEDIA Desk France, along with the MEDIA Antennae of Strasbourg and Marseilles, will organise for the first time a presentation of European training activities. It will take place on 17 May from 3pm - 5pm at Espace Pantiero, and will feature eight MEDIA-funded training courses. It is free to take part. After a brief introduction participants will chose one (or more) of the initiatives to discuss their project with. A cocktail offered by the MEDIA Desk Antenna of Marseilles, will end this meeting.
Three of the training programmes are dedicated to scriptwriting:
EKRAN (Poland): this training is focused on the creative process in pre-production. Its aim is to improve the quality of participants' screenplays and to shoot two scenes from the project.
SOURCES 2 (Netherlands): this intensive training proposes for a scriptwriter or a team of scriptwriter/producer/director to develop their feature film script and documentary for cinema and TV.
MFI (Greece): this training offers a framework for script development and the necessary knowledge for the implementation of the development process in order to get the project produced.
ACE (France): the "Ateliers du Cinema Europeen" offers a long-term training programme for experienced producers. It gives individual mentoring to develop feature-length film projects for one year.
EAVE (Luxemburg): the European Audio Visual Entrepreneurs offers a one-year training course for a project (fiction and documentary) in development, as well as for the main production process.
Erich Pommer Institute (Germany): two training activities are organised by this institute - one about the Legal and Financial Aspects of a European Co-production, and the other about the Art of Negotiating Agreements for Film and Television.
The Media Business School (Spain): this school offers a training activity aimed at stimulating the careers of professionals their projects (with or without experience in the sector).
Another table will be dedicated to new technologies:
HFF - Hochhschule fur Film Und Fernsehen (Germany): the workshop INSIGHT specialises in digital cinema and high-definition television.
