European Entrepreneurship Video Awards 2010

The European Commission's Directorate General for Enterprise and Industry has launched the 2010 European Entrepreneurship Video Awards as part of the second European SME Week (which runs from 25 May - 1 June 2010).

Have you ever thought of being your own boss, of doing what you want to do without following the orders of someone who pays you? Can you explain in a video what entrepreneurship is all about? These awards are an opportunity for all Europeans to think about entrepreneurship and to put their vision into a short film.

The challenge is to make a creative and original short film (between one and three minutes long) in one of three categories:

  • Entrepreneurship - A different way of life
  • Entrepreneurship - Challenges and rewards
  • Entrepreneurship - The way into the future.

The producers of the winning video in each category will be invited to a special award ceremony on 25 May 2010 in Brussels and will be awarded a prize of €3,333. Those videos in second place will be awarded €2,222 and those in third place will receive €1,111.

Five additional special prizes of €555 will be reserved for entrants aged 25 or younger.

Candidates should produce a short film in the category of their choice, upload it on the European Entrepreneurship Video Awards website and register their details.

The deadline for entries is 9 April 2010.

You can see the winners from the 2009 competition on the European Commission's website, along with competition information, terms and conditions.
