MEDIA Call for Experts

The MEDIA Programme uses experts from the audiovisual industry to assess projects.  These external experts analyse the projects in relation to the selection criteria of a particular funding scheme and advise the relevant department of the Executive Agency for Education, Audiovisual and Culture (EACEA), which is responsible for the processing of applications.

If you are a professional with significant experience (at least four years) in project development, distribution, training, or promotion and festivals you are encouraged to forward your details to be put on the expert database.   You need to be able to read applications in English or French and to produce evaluation reports in one of these two languages.  You also need to be able to take part in discussion in English.  Knowledge of other European languages is welcome but not essential.  Expertise in managing international projects and in budgetary and financial aspects is an asset.

The EACEA uses one central database to contact experts to advise on a range of funding Programmes, including the MEDIA Programme.  There are no deadlines; you can submit your details until the end of June 2013.  The EACEA will contact you in due course to inform you whether your expression of interest was accepted.  This, however, does not mean that you will be given an assignment.  Experts are sourced from all over Europe.  It is in the UK's interest that the UK is adequately represented in the pool of experts.  Therefore the MEDIA Desk UK is encouraging you to apply.
