Support is available for independent television companies with a European television programme, in principle not intended for theatrical release (exceptions apply - see the guidelines), in the following categories:

fiction, minimum duration 50 minutes
creative documentary, minimum duration 25 minutes
animation, minimum duration 25 minutes
 
A grant of up to 12.5% of the production budget, capped at €500,000 is available for fiction and animation projects and up to 20% of the budget, capped at €300,000 for creative documentaries.  50% of the finance must be in place and a minimum three broadcasters from several MEDIA member states must be attached.  Applications must be submitted before the commencement of principal photography.
