It comes to many people as a shock when they embark on a long internet marketing campaign using a plethora of methods that are untested and historically have failed then learn their campaign isn’t doing so hot. Tweeting to a following they care nothing about, posting amiss on their Facebook walls, and trying other methods from back in the late 90′s simply will not work in today’s search engine marketing society, and this is a fact. In order to compel anyone to take action on anything you are offering, an approach that is conducive with experienced methods needs to be taken or you’ll be simply wasting time, bandwidth and effort. If you are not using media marketing methods that work, here are some that you can immediately incorporate into your business model:

Content Perfection

If you intend on getting anyone to learn more about your organization or business model, you need to understand how to effectively deliver a message across the wire. Therefore, you should probably get good at using Keyword tools such as Bing or Google and write your articles based of the trends and top searches that match your niche. Simply writing on the top keywords that come up will not help your site compete on a relevant level. Your writing needs to be succinct yet factual; brief yet concise. It must not contain useless affiliate links that people are going to overlook anyway; your writing should contain minimal linking and, when it does, should link to other pages across your site or blog. Google Trends or Yahoo’s daily top searches are also useful starting points as well.

Engage Your People

As with any following, you cannot expect people to stick around – much less buy – if they feel they’re being ignored. Therefore, you should maintain a moderate yet relevant audience. Should you choose Twitter, search hash tags that match your niche the closest and see who is engaging in conversation the most; these are the people most likely to share an identical affinity for your niche and should be followed and engaged with. Avoid writing useless drivel in business Tweets; keep the message open to debate yet contain a call to action with link. Don’t abuse hash tags but rather use them enough to elevate your conversation with like-minded individuals.

The Face Is An Open Book

Using personal Facebook wall posts to promote your wares will either get you ignored or traffic that you don’t want. It would be suggested to have a separate account for business and personal use and learn to geo-target and/or interest-target your friends requests to better service the audience you wish to engage. Once you have a moderate following, it is best to talk about the subject or business field you are promoting as a whole rather than boast what you can do. You’ll have a better time convincing people of your business prowess if you talk with them about the entire niche rather than brag how you can do it better than the rest – knowing these people don’t even know you as a person yet, let alone a viable business adversary.

Take these short tips to heart and utilize them everyday for best results. It is better to take the time to media market correctly than to impose your business will on an unwilling audience or following and lose potential customers that don’t know you exist – yet want to know you.
